This year,
Cahuilla Lodge will offer four ordeal inductions, a chance to
add to our membership, induct new Brotherhood members, and development
fun and fellowship by providing excellent ceremonies and a well-organized
events.
With this task brings one of the most important responsibilities of being a
member of the Order of the Arrow. Not only do we need you to attend these
Ordeals to give service to the camp, but we need you there to support the
new members we are going to induct. Just think, chances are, one of the
youth that will be going through this year will be a future Lodge Chief.
We need your help making the event as organized as possible and making our
program as attractive as it can be, so that young man will want to stay involved.
One of the most meaningful ways to give service is to be an
Elangomat. By
rededicating yourself to the organization by guiding Ordeal Candidates side by
side through their ordeal, you will be setting a positive example for them to
follow.

In addition, it is important that we offer those youth well-rehearsed
ceremonies. Youth who are participating in ceremonies must be sure
that they are a solemn event. Not only will you be performing in front
of many candidates, but also many members who will attend the ceremony.
Memorization is a key, but just as important is making your words clear
and articulate. You want to make the ceremonies a memorable experience
because this is the only ceremony that youth or adult will attend as a
candidate.
We have only one chance to a make a great first impression. The better the
experience, the better chances we have of getting that newly-inducted member
to seek more service opportunities in the Order of the Arrow.
We need the
help of each member, including you, to make sure we inspire our soon-to-be
Brothers and Sisters to join us down the path of Cheerful Service.
