A Celebration At Camp Emerson - Summer Camp 2000 A Success
Workers wearing Order of the Arrow sashes joined hands with hard-working summer camp staff members at the first-ever OA Service Weekend at Camp Emerson. Weather did stave off some participants from attending, but the lure of a free event where you were expected to help break down summer camp for the summer did bring out a number of Cahuilla Lodge members.

This occasion marked the end of one of the most successful summer camps in decades for Camp Emerson and the California Inland Empire Council. Programs were well-run, new programs like the E-team helped attract older Scouts, and the attraction of attending your own summer camp helped make everyone a winner this summer.

Wanakik Chapter chief Brian Hall was the OA Summer Camp Chief. He helped organize the OA members who were on staff. He planned and developed a Wednesday program for the Order of the Arrow, giving it a positive presence at Camp Emerson.

The plan is to add additional weeks in 2001 in the hope of building on the successes of 2000. With momentum in our favor, the California Inland Empire Council is building one of the best summer camping programs in Southern California.
