Cahuilla Lodge honors and awards at previous National Order of the
Arrow Conferences
- 2000 (Tennesee) - Cahuilla Lodge was the National Champion in the Camping Promotion
Static Display event. Our Northern Drum team also finished 5th place in
the nation. Lodge Chief Garth Olson was the national runner-up (Congratulations to Wiatava!) in the Lip Sync. Finally, our website, www.snakepower.org, was the sixteenth (16th) highest scoring site in the competition.
- 1998 (Iowa State) - Cahuilla Lodge had two National Dancing
Champions, Dustin Shoemake who placed in first in Grass Dancing, and Danny
Souza, who placed first in Northern Traditional Dancing (Article).Our Fancy Dancer
extraorinaire Tim Mulkern just finished out of the top-ten (10). Our Shadow
Lodge Singers Northern-style drum team was the national runner-up.
- 1996 (Indiana) - Our Shadow Lodge Singers Northern-style drum team
was the national runner-up. Danny Souza placed in the top-ten (10) in
Northern Traditional Dancing, while Dustin Shoemake and Tim Mukern both made
the semi-finals in Grass Dancing and Fancy Dance, respectively.
- 1994 (Purdue) - Michael Celano, the 1988 Western Region OA Chief, receives the Distinguished Service Award. The OA Jeopardy Team of Tracy Schultze, Alan Kay, and Thom Zambrana made the national finals. Dustin Shoemake made the national finals
in Grass Dancing. Lodge Adviser Tim Jasper was the national runner-up in the long
drive competition. Our newsletter, the Call of the Cahuilla, was in the top-eight (8) nationally, receiving recognition as a Gold Newsletter.
- 1990 (Indiana) - The Pre-Ordeal team from Kaneeno Chapter consisting of David Sturges, Isaac Alves, Noel Parra, J.P. Rogers, and Chris Eckland, finished twelfth (12th) our of more than eighty (80) lodges that competed. Isaac Alves placed third (3rd) in the nation in the role of Nutiket. The Brotherhood team from A-tsa Chapter consisting of Michael Wabs, Chris Hanson, Stefan Gogosha, Gregg Capella, and Danny Wabs, placed third (3rd) our of more than forty (40) lodges that competed. Michael Wabs placed fourth (4th) in the nation in the role of Allowat Sakima, which Chris Hanson placed fifth (5th) for Meteu, Stefan Gogosha placed third (3rd) for Nutiket, and Gregg Capella placed seventh (7th) for Kitchkinet.
- 1988 (Ft. Collins) - The Brotherhood team from A-tsa Chapter consisting of Michael Wabs, Chris Hanson, Stefan Gogosha, Gregg Capella, and Danny Wabs, was the national runner-up. The Pre-Ordeal team from Kaneeno Chapter finished seventeenth (17th). Cahuilla Lodge was the National runner-up in Ordeal Administration. Lodge Chief Stefan Gogosha finished in third (3rd) place in the 5K Olympic run.
- 1986 (Central Michigan) - Michael Sachs receives the Distinguished Service Award.
- 1973 (UC Santa Barbara) - Michael Goldware receives the Distinguished Service Award.
