Wisumahi Reunion Makes The Lodge's Spirit Rise Again
February 3, 2004
Before there was Cahuilla Lodge, the Order of the Arrow was still an important aspect of the Boy Scouting program in the Inland Empire. Tahquitz, Wisumahi, and A-tsa Lodges served various parts of the area that comprise our current Lodge.

On February 3, 2004, three Wisumahi alums met at the Lafayette, CA home of Joe Rosenthal. It was a day for memories, memoribilia and old-fashioned Wimachtendienk. The three Brothers in the photograph are, from right to left:

Paul Helman--inducted in 1961; Vigil Honor in 1966; Camp Helendade Staff, 1962-68. Currently, a Commisioner in the Sacramento Area.

Joe Rosenthal--inducted in 1954; Vigil Honor in 1959, Lodge Chief, 1959; Camp Arataba Staff, 1956-60; Camp Helendade Staff, 1962. Currently an adviser in Ut-In Selica Lodge #58.

Larry Grace--inducted in 1951; Lodge Chief, 1952 (Wisumahi's first); Vigil Honor, 1957. Currently a Scoutmaster and a member of Miwok Lodge #439.

This was the first Northern California reunion of Wisumahi Brothers, but subsequent ones were discussed. It is hoped that a larger one will occur in the not-too-distant future.
