Dying to get involved in the OA? Looking for something else to do? Are you ready for a new challenge? Have you
considered joining a chapter ceremony team?
The Order of the Arrow has a world of opportunity for you. Cahuilla Lodge is organized into
10 different chapters, and most chapters use ceremony teams to get members involved,
to provide service and entertainment for their district, and to uphold one of the OA's oldest traditions.
Indian Lore and ceremonial tradition are as old as the OA itself. Not only do you get to present yourself to an
audience in your regalia, but you master other skills like public speaking, memorization, and stress management
when something goes a little awry despite your hours of practice.
Whether you are new to the OA or have been a member for several years, you have the opportunity. Some of the OA
ceremonies you could be involved with:
- Pre Ordeal Ceremony
- Ordeal Ceremony
- Brotherhood Ceremony
- Arrow of Light Ceremony
The opportunities don't end there either. Some chapters have ceremonies for Packs/Troops that have Scouts bridging
from Cubs to Boy Scouts, some have ceremonies for Eagle Court of Honors, and some even have rededication ceremonies
for their fellow Brothers in the OA.
Interested? Get started! You can communicate to your
Chapter
Chief and ask him how you can get involved, because the
OA is only as great of an organization as you make it. If
you stay home and get involved, you'll never know all of the
opportunities it holds for you! If you have trouble contacting
your chapter, then email your
Lodge
Chief and tell him you want to get involved!
