A Message From Our New
Adviser, Peter Mandery
Well, another chapter has ended in the history of the Cahuilla Lodge. We start to
continue our journey of service to others, through the new programs and training unveiled
at NOAC. We need to thank the past Lodge Officers and Advisers for their leadership and
guidance through this past year. We were well prepared to meet the challenges thrown down
by the other three Lodges in our Section. But, of course the spirit that dwells deep
within each member of Cahuilla, has not found any to challenge it. In other words, there
were none who could match this Lodge Spirit. Camp promo, Training, Sports, ceremonies, we
couldn't find anyone to compete with. Our Dancers, our Drums, our Arrowmen, there were no
challenges. Thanks for the memories of an outstanding Conclave. Watch out next year.
NOAC was everything it was hyped to be and more. To all of my fellow arrowmen, and our
adopted Navajo Brother, thanks for making the experience as enjoyable as it could be. With
all the events that were going on it was difficult at the least to account for each and
every one of you. But then again, you're the cream of the crop, the top of the barrel,
you're all trustworthy. Thanks for watching out for me. Also thanks for all the help that
was provided by the Advisers in attendance. Way to let your hair down and just live the
experience and have fun. A big thanks to Dennis Underwood and John Winston for
their advise and assistance in helping teach me what I'm suppose to do, and for keeping me
focused on the higher purpose of the Order.
This Fall Fellowship was great. We inducted some new Vigil Members into our Lodge, sealed
the ties of Brotherhood with a few more, and had both the current and past Advisers
cooking breakfast our Arrowmen. It was a good time for all. Thanks to the host chapter(s)
for their hard work and planning that ensured an excellent time for all. Great
communication with the WEB Page Staff. Who would of thought that we'd have a live web-site
right at camp. Small steps for Scouting, larger leaps and bounds for Cahuilla Arrowmen.
Great Job!
In closing, let me remind each and everyone of you, I'm the Lodge Adviser. My phone number
is (XXX)XXX-XXXX. I'm here to serve you, not the other way around. If you have an idea
that you want to implement, let's talk. There are a lot of things that need to be done.
There are a few things that need to be changed. But, they all begin with you. Are you
ready to commit the time? If so, there may be a job for you in your Lodge, Chapter, or
Troop. With the push toward service, don't forget that the duty of all Arrowmen starts
with their home unit. Promote camping and offer service as a means of keeping your
obligation. Service to others through Scouting.
