Another chapter has ended in the history of the Cahuilla Lodge. As our
journey continues, leadership, service and camping promotion are our goals. We
need to look back at our accomplishments and thank our past officers and
advisers. Working closely with Pete Mandery the last 2+ years kept me
focused on the true purpose of our Order. Thank you Brother!
This past year started off well with our annual banquet at
Cal State University, San Bernardino.
Fun was had by all with a great evening of fellowship. This year
at Conclave we were well prepared to meet the challenges thrown
at us by the 3 other Lodges, but the spirit that lives deep inside
each Cahuilla arrowman goes unmatched. No Lodge could match us in
spirit, training, camp promo, sports, dancing or our lodge drum
Morning
Star.
Our 3 Ordeals were outstanding not only providing service to our Council
Camps, but bringing into our Lodge a whole new group of ordeal members. Many
sealed their ties of Brotherhood with one common goal of once again being of
"QUALITY LODGE" status. Fall Fellowship was great as we inducted in some new
Vigil members, and many competitions were held for all chapters along with
Lodge officer elections.
Our council had a very successful camping season at
Camp Emerson and Camp
Wiley with a very high percentage of arrowman serving on staff. We also
started a new style O.A. campfire at Camp Emerson not only giving some camp
history but hopefully showing that young camper the true spirit of our Lodge
and the Order.
Probably the highlight of the year was the
National Order of the Arrow
Conference. N.O.A.C. was everything it was hyped to be and more. Our Lodge
sent a Contingent of 20 Arrowman along with 7 on Staff. We were very busy
from the moment we were there through us leaving. Of 331 lodges
attending, Cahuilla truly made an impact. Competing in almost all events
offered we did very well. Our camping promotion presentation is #1 in the
nation, our drum #5,our website #16,We also earned the highly coveted SPIRIT
AWARD,and for the first time ever we had a booth at Founders day showing off
our Snakepower Pride!
In closing, let me remind each and everyone of you, I'm the lodge adviser. My
phone number is (760)253-2194. I am here to serve you, not the other way
around. If you have an idea you want to see implemented,
let's talk.
Don't forget the duty of each arrowman starts with your home unit.
In the spirit of the founders,
