An Adviser's Minute

I would like to thank all of you in Cahuilla Lodge for the opportunity to serve you as the Lodge Adviser. I am really looking forward to serving you.

We have many activities beginning soon that are going to jumpstart our program. For chapters, they will be conducting membership elections in the units in their local district from January to March. It is important that we as members make ourselves available to assist in this project so we can induct as many youth as possible. The young ones we bring in today will tomorrow be our leaders.

In May, we will be the Service Lodge for the 2003 Section W4B Conclave. This conclave is being held at Camp Emerson for the first time in over 40 years, and yes, I do remember attending the last one there. Our youth leaders will need the help of all of you to prepare our camp and put on a great show for the section.

It is also not too early to think about the service we will be giving this summer to our two fabulous summer camps, Camp Emerson and Camp Helendade. Some dedicated Scouts and Scouters will be working hard to put on a great program, and the Order of the Arrow will be uniquely involved by helping with staffing, volunteers, and providing program for the Order of the Arrow days held at both camps.

So, don't wait, get involved! I hope you will be able to find within yourself what you can give to Cahuilla Lodge, and trust us, without your dedication and service, the Scouting program would not be as strong as it is.
