January 1, 2008
I am honored to greet you as the Adviser of Cahuilla Lodge. I would like to take a moment to thank
Mac and all of the past Lodge Advisers who have served this organization. I hope to continue their impressive record of service and will do so to the best of my ability.
I am excited about the opportunity to work with so many good youth Servant Leaders, including our new Lodge Chief,
Nick Gaskin. Their diligence accomplishing the Order’s Mission and Purpose is my focus. Many years ago, I was a youth leader in Cahuilla Lodge, and I hope to make their experience as fun and fulfilling as it was for me.
If Scouting is a “
Game with a Purpose,” as
Robert Baden-Powell so aptly put it, then membership in the Order can be interpreted as one of the results of winning that game. But in the game of Scouting, there is no end, because the challenges are always ahead of us and the accomplishments are always behind us. Those in the Wimachtendienk have realized the opportunity that Scouting has offered to improve their lives, and I am humbled to be among so many Servant Leaders.
Cahuilla Lodge has the chance to be one of the nation’s leading lodges. I consider the other 600 members of the local program my partners in accomplishing this. We are in this together.
Let’s make 2008 a year to continue our Founder’s vision and serve Scouting to the best of our ability.
In service, in friendship, and in fellowship,
Tracy M. Schultze
Lodge Adviser
