Ceremonies Are A Great Way To Get Involved in the Order of the Arrow!

Part of what makes the Order of the Arrow such an attractive program are the ceremonies performed by our members. Ceremonies attract Scouts and Scouters alike. It is also one of the best ways to get youth involved in our program immediately.

This section is designed to introduce you to the art of ceremony in the Order of the Arrow. Here, you will find helpful information on planning, preparation, and execution of all of the ceremonies offered by the Order of the Arrow.

Introducing The Ceremony Expert Program

The Ceremony Expert Program is designed to help foster an atmosphere of achievement among participating youth and adults in memorizing, preparing, and performing ceremonial events.

As part of the program, chapters are being asked to begin preparing their youth to participate in this program. To achieve the certification, youth will need to be certified as an individual and as a team. Is this required? No, it is not, but certified youth will be give preference at Ordeals and will be given incentive.

The program will be kicked off at the 2003 Fall Fellowship during one of the morning workshops. To qualify, youth must be able to memorize their part completely, show the mannerisms befitting of the character they play, and look the part of their character. Certified youth will be the best we can offer in ceremonies, and those that pass the certification will be duly recognized.

Soon, there will be more information included on the Cahuilla Lodge Website to offer more tools to prepare for certification. The tools will include memorization techniques, profiles of the four principles, and added ideas that make a ceremony a great performance for candidates and audience members.
