ScoutReach Mentoring
The Order of Arrow Scoutreach Mentoring Program is a joint effort of the national Scoutreach Division of the Boy Scouts of America and the Order of the Arrow. Its purpose is to identify and assist urban and rural Scout troops whose camping and advancement programs are below standard. The OA ScoutReach Mentoring Program is designed to provide OA members the opportunity to reach out and help a less fortunate den, pack or troop with much needed guidance and support. Cahuilla Lodge members are linked to units within their own Chapters and areas. This opportunity is open to both youth and adult alike, all we ask is that you have a willing heart and a love for Scouting. As Arrowmen, we lead the way and set the example for the rest of the Scouting community; let’s join forces around the ideals that Baden Powell set before us by doing our part in assuring the Scouting program is available to ALL youth. The upcoming ScoutReach Family Camp out is sure to be a fun filled weekend that we will remember for many years to come. We will focus on two separate things during the weekend. If an adult, the focus will be to empower you with the tools needed to provide a good program for the youth that is both fun and conservation minded while keeping to the ideals of the Scouting program. The youth will be provided with an OA member to act as Den Chief for the weekend and accompany them through a host of activities that will range from archery and bb guns to activity pins and the feeding of zoo animals. We will enjoy tent camping, making our own meals, putting on a campfire program and much, much more. Contact the O.A.
